Our authentic beach town is a celebrity unto itself known throughout the world. Located on the west coast between Sea World and the San Diego Navy base is Ocean Beach. Newport Avenue runs East and West, down hill, for four blocks of residential until it reaches Ocean Beach Elementary school where MainStreet begins. Ocean Beach's MainStreets are Newport Avenue, Sunset Cliffs Blvd., and Santa Monica Avenue as well as Voltaire Avenue which will take you to the original Dog Beach.
Shops range from antiques, sea shells, t-shirts, surfboards, skateboards, shoes, dresses, skin and hair care, you name it, OB's got it. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, whether you are in town for a special occasion or just looking for something new. OB has a wide variety of burgers to choose from whether it's Old Townhouse Restaurant, World famous Hodad's, Raglan House, OB Surf Lodge, Wonderland or OB Quick Stop ALL the burgers in Ocean Beach are really good. No doubt.
After you've grabbed a bite to eat take a stroll down to the boardwalk where the sand in your toes is only a few steps away. Breath in the salty air, visit the tide pools beneath the longest concrete fishing pier on the West coast. Back onto the boardwalk are stairs that also lead up to the San Diego Municipal Fishing Pier where you can walk out and see the Coronado Islands down in Mexico. Or look North towards Torry Pines. No matter where you look the views are spectacular and enjoyable.
What are you waiting for? Come on down and meet the most interesting people, see the craziest things and have the most amazing experiences of your life.
